Use of PMSI data by APM International
On 9 March 2023, APM International obtained the renewal of its CNIL authorisation (DE-2023-020), granting a single authorisation for the automated processing of national data from the Programme de médicalisation des systèmes d’information (PMSI) for research and evaluation purposes. This follows the first two authorisations obtained in 2018 (DE-2018-334, dated 18 October 2018) for a period of one year, and in 2019 (DE-2019-142, dated 5 December 2019) for a period of three years.
APM International is authorised to reuse PMSI data for the following purpose: analysing changes in the hospital landscape by developing healthcare activity indicators by facility, group of facilities, facility category or region, in relation to the public policies implemented.
Personal data from the PMSI
To ensure the protection of personal data from the PMSI, APM International is committed to strict compliance with the legislative and regulatory framework governing access to personal health data.
APM International may therefore process pseudonymised personal health data, meaning data that does not allow individuals to be directly identified. Regarding PMSI data, please note that you may exercise your rights of access, rectification and objection by contacting the director of the organisation managing the compulsory health insurance scheme with which you are affiliated, in accordance with Article R.1461-9 of the French Public Health Code.
Publication and transparency of results from PMSI data analysis
APM International publishes the results of its PMSI data analyses on its websites, primarily APMNews (https://www.apmnews.com) and APM Intelligence (https://www.apmintelligence.com).
In addition, all studies conducted by APM International are registered in the public directory of the Health Data Hub. As part of this registration, a protocol including a justification of the public interest and a summary, as well as a declaration of interests from the data controller, are also submitted.
